02/17/2022I searched for hours and days for a personal safe that would protect my belongings from Iowa’s freak floods and also from fire if I get into an accident during a cross-country road trip. Add in my apparently frivolous requirement for a way to secure the safe with a lock or cable to try and protect against theft. I’m fairly certain that I have to credit this particular find to those “cookies” used by Amazon to track my search requirements. Good to know the horrifying threat to my privacy occasionally has its merits. Update “bonus” feature: You don’t actually have to lock this safe to keep it securely closed! Compare to a closed door v. a dead bolt . . . contents aren’t secure against theft if it’s not locked, but they’re protected from fire and water and still accessible without the key.
