Great Value and capacity
01/29/2020We've ownws the Staycool/Costway refrigerator for two seasons traveling into the desert now and have been very happy with the product. We are able to move it in/out of oir VW van easily, even when full. We are most impressed in how much capacity this cooler has - we used to own an expensive YETI large capacity cooler and couldnt fit nearly as much food and beverages as we can with this model. It is sturdy and reliable - we run it off of aolar and an auxiliary battery and have never had issues. We do reccomend using the economy mode when using solar and auxiliary source - we dind that wven in the economy mode our food & beverages stay very cold. We decided this year to build an insullated linee to place over ot to help keep the cool inside as we weren't able to find an insulated jacket specifically for this brand.DOWNSIDE: we did contact the Customer Service 1-800 phone number in order to locate an extra electrical cord to keep on hand and we've never heard back. Also, it "appears" the current model we ha e is no longer in stock - so if and when we have issues we may be out of luck for any replacement parts. BUT we paid about $300 for this little gem, versus oir friends who own a Dometic and who paid much much more for their model, which by the way - works as well as ours - but we could buy three of oirs for the price they paid for theirs. We are happy with rhe product with the exceptions of poor "customer service" and replacement part issues as well as the insulated jacket. We would reccomend a Costway product.
